I have started to trace my family tree using ancestry app and got as far as Samuel and Elizabeth Alice. On the off chance I typed their name into Google....and came across your site that has saved me months of research :-) Samuel and Alice are my great grandfather/grandmother. They had a child Alfred mylchreest born in 1900 ...my grandfather who died in 1974... Thank you

This is the family line as I see it using available records, more information can be obtained from purchasing birth, marriage and death certificates:-  

-Vincent Joseph Mylchreest, born Cumberland 1887, married Prescot, Lancashire 1915, died Coventry 1963 (wife: Mary Helena Gerrard, born Whiston, Lancashire 1889, died Coventry 1947)  
-son of John Mylchreest, born Marown, Isle of Man 1844, joined the British Army in 1863, married Elham, Kent 1879, died Prescot, Lancashire 1910 (wife: Elizabeth Thorn White, born Queen Camel, Somerset 1855, died Coventry 1930)
-son of Jonah Mylchreest born Malew, Isle of Man 1821, died Braddan, Isle of Man 1894 (wife: Jane Kelly)
-son of John Mylchreest, born Malew, Isle of Man 1786, died Malew, Isle of Man 1858 (wife: Catherine Callister)
-son of Patrick Mylchreest (wife: Catherine Oates) 

As you can see you are related to my Mylchreests we are both descendents of Patrick Mylchreest and Catherine Oates. We are descended from twin brothers born to Patrick and Catherine, I’m descended from Solomon and you are descended from his twin brother John.

I have traced my family tree back to John Mylchreest B 1867 who married Catherine Cowin - does this fit with with any of your research

Hi David

I can't find the parents of the John Mylchreest who died in 1867 aged about 52 years old, who married Catherine Cowin in 1835. The baptisms around 1815 don't fit if you try to support them with other online sources. Perhaps he is connected to one of the lines in my tree further back.
